I totally agree with Janine Webb’s comment….and that’s why I will be rallying tomorrow This budget will most definitely create a huge divide between the classes as it hits the poorest of the poor the hardest! It totally lacks ethics and I’m feeling the Australia I remember ( giving everyone a fair chance) will be a thing of the past as this Liberal party continues to hone into hard-line business tactics with total disregard for the poor, infirm and unemployed in their quest for greater profits at the expense of its underprivileged and the environment

The budget proposal is completely without moral or ethical considerations in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. There is no consideration for the economic value of having full employment.

Tony Abbot had lied to the Australian people to win the election. Why is he not being charge or put in jail for his crime? How is this fair and legal in a democratic society?I could not believe how he twisted his words and say that people mis-understood his election promises. How can a Lying prime minister represent Australia to negotiate business and trade with other nation. This Tony Abbot is heartless and in-human ,Please unite and do not let him ruine this great country.

how can we have a debt free country if Aussie families become further in personal debt to achieve it. Your robbing Peter to pay Paul

Abbott’s budget is FUNDAMENTALY WRONG, it’s targeting the most vulnerable, and rewarding the richest. BUST THE BUDGET!!!!

This budget in a purely economical way will work. But at what cost? Do we want to live in a country that does not support its students, indigenous people or the poorest people living in the country. Not to mention the complete cuts to foreign aid. This budget will only further enhance Australia’s bad reputation around the world in terms of human rights. In a question of fairness this budget’s predictions of a debt free country do not justify the means.

Abbott’s claim that critics of his budget are “screaming” in our own self interest is an insult to the great majority of Australians who recognize that the contrast between the 15% impact on the disposable incomes of our poorest fellow Australians (estimate by the respected National Centre for Economic Modelling) and the 2% deficit levy impacting those with high incomes is tantamount to class warfare. Our most vulnerable fellow citizens are to suffer 7 ½ times the impact of those most able to pay.

Here we see the benefits of economic growth not trickling down to our most vulnerable but gushing up to the wealthy through a rich flow of superannuation and other concessions whilst social support is stripped from those in need. The Government is deliberately budgeting to favour the most privileged sectors of society rather than acting to ensure that all sections share the continuing strength of our economy equitably.

Abbott and his hardline colleagues must make their claim to fairness real, accept that the overwhelming majority of Australians want a society in which all have a fair share of its continuing prosperity, and re-structure the budget help those in most need.
